Trump Kim Summit Enters Second Phase, Predicts Success | The Daily Caller.

President Donald Trump’s summit with Kim Jong Un has entered its second phase with the opening of an expanded bilateral agreement after a nearly 45 minute one-on-one session.

“We’ll solve the problem, the big dilemma that until this point has been unable to be solved, working together we will get it taken care of,” Trump told Kim, adding that it was his great honor to sit with him. Kim then expressed his gratitude that obstacles were overcome which allowed the summit to occur and expressed hope that their discussions would lead to peace.

“We overcame all kinds of skepticism and speculations about this summit and I believe that this is good for the peace,” the North Korean leader said.

The expanded bilateral meeting is the second phase of the summit and includes White House chief of staff John Kelly, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and National Security Advisor John Bolton. Kim Jong Un was also accompanied by senior staff.

After the expanded bilateral meeting, the summit will enter its third phase with a working lunch where White House press secretary Sarah Sanders, Ambassador Sung Kim, and National Security Council Senior Director for Asia Matt Pottinger will join them.
